Headless cloning, ethics and P.B Desai.

Blaze and I.

I'm feeling really blogger-ish today. Don't mind the endless spamming :)

Do you believe in cloning?? The latest issue being discussed by scientists world wide is on the ethics of cloning. Especially when it comes to cloning humans. Yeah, HUMANS. Headless humans as a matter of fact :) Yeah HEADLESS!! Haha. Imagine a multitude of headless humans rushing out of the lab. They're mindless as they function without brains. It would be quite a sight for sore eyes huh?? :) Tee hee*

The whole headless cloning rave started in India actually. By an Indian scientist, P.B Desai. He's amazing. he fights for a cause actually. Although many other scientists globally are not so supportive of that notion of headless clones. It would be like a science fiction :) Just imagine.

P.B. Desai said, "The ultimate aim of science and medicine is towards immortality." He endorsed the creation of headless humans as a faster route. "Embryonic stem cells, which holds promise of cure of any organ, is but a slow move towards immortality," Desai said.

That is what Mr Desai says. The ethical side to it, I'm not sure. It's hard to say though. He has a point, the harvesting of organs from the bodies of the headless clones would be awesome for genetic engineering in times of sickness. With so much of viruses and diseases mutating in the air today, you never know ;) You might need a clone. LOL it might come in handy. Think about it. You might need a new liver if you're a consistent drinker :) Your clone would have a totally healthy liver that you could use. Plus, your body would be fully accepting of it. It's your own cells, flesh and blood you see??

On the other hand, hmm. As usual, moral values and the code of ethics HAVE TO be reviewed again. So yeah, such a heated debate going around. The proposal was in 2004 though but it is still going on. Very interesting.

Will blog more later. Have to get my nerd mode on :P

Love you all, bloggieloveys!!
